Parent Guidance Session

Clarity, confidence, and practical next steps for your child — in one focused session.

If you're worried about your child's behaviour, emotions, or development and don't know what to do next, this session is designed to help you get clear, calm, and grounded.

A Parent Guidance Session is a one-to-one, 60-minute appointment with Dr Andrea Homer-Edwards, Consultant Psychiatrist (Child, Adolescent & Adult Mental Health). Together, we'll explore what's really going on beneath the behaviour and what practical steps you can take moving forward.

This is a supportive, non-judgmental space to ask questions, share concerns, and leave with a clearer sense of direction.

What this session can help with

You do not need a diagnosis to book this session.

What happens in the session

  1. Talk through your concerns

You'll share what you're seeing at home or school, what you've tried so far, and what worries you most.

  2. Explore possible explanations

Dr Andrea will help you understand what may be contributing to the behaviour, using evidence-based psychiatric knowledge and real-world parenting insight.

  3. Discuss practical strategies

You'll receive clear, realistic guidance you can start using immediately — tailored to your child and family situation.

  4. Clarify next steps

Where appropriate, we'll discuss whether further support, assessment, school collaboration, or follow-up sessions may be helpful.

You should leave the session feeling more informed, less overwhelmed, and clearer about what to do next.
